The Journey Begins

So we’re setting off on a journey into the blogosphere. Whatever that is.

For many years I enjoyed making a weekly article in church bulletins. Unfortunately, the days of the printed newsletter style bulletin are gone. Instead we have the digital format of blogs. So I guess if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em, right?

I’m not really sure exactly what this page is gonna be. I really just plan on it being a page to talk. Talk about all the leftovers and tangents from sermons. (Every week I have so many other directions I could go and some really good nuggets that get left on the editing room floor). Maybe a place to talk about the intricacies of church. Even a place to share my individual walk and journey.

I hope that this page can be inspirational, educational and maybe just entertaining. I want this to be a way to communicate thoughts and ideas about church, God, the Bible and anything else that life throws our way.

That means sometimes we are gonna get heavy and deep. Other times we are going to be foolish and frivolous. Either way, I think it’s gonna be a fun ride.

I’ve named it after one of my favorite characters in the Bible; David. David is a mess. He’s a hero and a king but at the same time a scoundrel, a murderer and a sex offender. But God still loves him. Through all of his mess, God still calls him a man after His own heart. I’m hoping that I can have some of that kind of grace as well. I wanna be a man after God’s heart. But that’s a rough road to walk.

Thanks for joining me!

  1. Is this picture the railroad crossing at Roganville, TX? Sure looks like one maybe your brother took? I like it anyways.
AND I love the idea of your blog.
